JUAN HENRIQUEZ
(b. 1980, Maracaibo, Venezuela) is a Venezuelan-born visual artist who lives and works in Miami, Florida. His practice expands contemporary painting through material experimentation and processes rooted in gesture, structure, and layered pictorial construction. He began his artistic training in 1995 at the Julio Árraga Art School in Maracaibo and later continued his studies at the Neptalí Rincón Superior Academy of Art, where he focused on experimental graphic arts and printmaking.
Henríquez has presented solo exhibitions at venues including Edge Zones (Miami), Coral Gables Museum (Coral Gables), Laundromat Art Space (Miami), D’Museo Gallery (Caracas), and the Contemporary Art Museum of Zulia (Maracaibo).
His work has been included in group exhibitions across the United States, Latin America, and Europe, with presentations at institutions including the Coral Gables Museum, Alejandro Otero Museum of Contemporary Art (Caracas), and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Zulia (Maracaibo), as well as in exhibitions curated by Richard Garet, Yi Chin Hsied, Felix Suazo and Dainy Tapia. Currently, he’s a resident artist at Laundromat Art Space.
